Donations
We’re so grateful to the families who donate to Herts loves CIC. Your generosity powers our pop-ups and supports local families. To make the most of each donation, we ask that you follow the simple guidelines below.
donation policy
Items we accept:
•Baby and children's clothing (tiny baby up to age 5).
•Full pairs of shoes, sandals, boot, socks, slippers, pyjamas, etc.
•Coats, jackets, hats, gloves and other outerwear.
•Toys, books, and puzzles suitable for young children.
•Baby essentials like blankets, sleeping bags, muslins, and dribble bibs.
•Large baby equipment, such as prams, cots or high chairs.
Items we cannot accept:
•Underwear (unless new and unopened).
•Used mattresses.
•Car seats and bases (due to safety regulations).
•Clothing for children over age 6.
•School uniform.
•Personalised items.
Condition requirements:
To ensure items are suitable for resale, please:
•Wash all clothing and textiles before donating.
•Check for stains, holes, mould and strong smells.
•Only donate full sets or pairs (e.g. socks, shoes, pyjamas).
•Ensure toys and books are clean and in good working order.
Items that do not meet these requirements will not be accepted as a donation and may be returned to you.
Vouchers:
•We offer a money-off voucher for good-quality, resaleable donations.
•Vouchers are not given for donations that do not meet the condition requirements above.
•Vouchers do not expire, can be donated or transferred to someone else, and may only used once.
•Please show your voucher or tell us the code at the point of sale to redeem the value.
What happens to unusable items:
•We aim to sell all suitable items at our pop-ups.
•If something doesn’t sell, or if it doesn’t fit our condition guidelines above, we may list it as part of a bundle on our Vinted account.
•Items that remain unsold after a period of time, or those deemed unsafe or unhygienic, may be recycled or responsibly disposed of.
